1. Figure

figure通常指幾何圖形或圖案；此外書(shū)中的插圖不管是什么圖都可以用 figure表示：

2. Diagram

diagram是科技英語(yǔ)中用得比較廣泛的一個(gè)詞，用于一般的圖形、圖表：

This simplified block diagram is valuable. （這個(gè)簡(jiǎn)化了的框圖很有用。 ）

3. Graph 一般用于指曲線(xiàn)圖、標(biāo)繪圖，也可指圖解：

　　 The graph of this equation has been drawn above. （此方程所對(duì)應(yīng)的曲線(xiàn)圖已在上面畫(huà)出。 ）

4. Plot 往往可以與graph互換:

　　 The plot of I versus V is a straight line. （I隨V的變化曲線(xiàn)是一條直線(xiàn)。）

5. View 一般用于機(jī)械圖或各種結(jié)構(gòu)圖中的各向視圖，也用來(lái)指航海中使用的“對(duì) 景圖”（即實(shí)物圖片）：

　　 The top and cross-sectional views of the memory structure are shown below. （這種存儲(chǔ)器結(jié)構(gòu)的俯視圖和剖析圖如下面所示。）

6. Profile 一般指零（部）件的外形輪廓圖，剖面形狀圖： stratigraphic profile 地層縱斷面圖 profile也可指各種分布圖：

　　 density profile密度分布圖，pressure profile壓力分布圖

7. Pattern 用于指圖型、圖案、花紋等 A mask with 100 tiny individual patterns is placed over the chip and exposed to light. （將帶有1000個(gè)微小分立圖樣的掩膜放在晶片上并曝光。 ）

8. Drawing 主要用于各種工程圖紙及有關(guān)工程設(shè)計(jì)的附圖、插圖： perspective drawing 透視圖 projection drawing 投影圖
