◆am & pm

1. am 意為“上午”，pm 意為“下午”，兩者在用法上應(yīng)注意以下幾點(diǎn)：

(1) 兩者都不能單獨(dú)使用，而要與表示時(shí)間的數(shù)字連用，且置于數(shù)字之后；

(2) 不能與 in the morning 或 in the afternoon 連用，以免構(gòu)成用詞重復(fù)；

(3) 不能與 o’clock 連用。

他早上六點(diǎn)起床。

正: He gets up at 7 am.

正: He gets up at 7 (o’clock) in the morning.

誤: He gets up at 7 am in the morning.

誤: He gets up at 7 o’clock am.

2. 相應(yīng)的短語(yǔ)有時(shí)可置于名詞前作定語(yǔ)。如：

I missed the 5:45 pm train from Paris. 我沒(méi)有趕上從巴黎開(kāi)來(lái)的下午5點(diǎn)45分的列車(chē)。
