【用法一】 v. 堅(jiān)決要求;堅(jiān)持要;一定要

例1：we insisted on his apology.

我們要他賠禮道歉。

例2： she insisted on seeing us home.

她堅(jiān)持要送我們回家。

例3： i insisted on their arriving there ahead of time.

我堅(jiān)持要他們提前趕到那。

注：1)insist on 后面不能接由“名詞或代詞 + 動(dòng)詞不定式”構(gòu)成的復(fù)合賓語(yǔ)。不能說(shuō)：the teacher insisted on all the compositions to be handed in on monday.

2)insist +賓語(yǔ)從句(從句中的謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞常用虛擬語(yǔ)氣，即should + 動(dòng)詞原形或

省去should)。例如： the young men insisted that they (should) be sent to the front.

那些年輕人堅(jiān)持要求被派往前線去。

【用法二】v. 堅(jiān)持認(rèn)為，堅(jiān)持說(shuō)，強(qiáng)調(diào)

1) insist on +名詞。

例如： he insisted on his innocence.

他堅(jiān)持說(shuō)自己無(wú)罪。

2)insist on + 賓語(yǔ)從句在表示一個(gè)客觀事實(shí)時(shí)(謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞不用虛擬語(yǔ)氣，而應(yīng)用陳述語(yǔ)氣)。

例如： the boy insisted that he hadn’t broken the glass.

那小男孩堅(jiān)持說(shuō)他沒(méi)有打爛玻璃杯。
